Enia is a fantasy world that has survived not one, but two apocalyptic events. A previous high-tech civilization has left shadows of its existence in the landscape and the culture, mostly wiped off the face of the planet by an event only known as the impact. The survivors, emerging from failing and collapsing deep sleep chambers underground, had to rebuild from a stone age up again.
Your journey starts, a mere two hundred years after the world almost had the same happen again, narrowly averted, with devastating effects. Bizarre wounds have been carved into the ground, mysterious tunnels and underground complexes revealed, monsters and machines running rampant, all the while various factions are battling each other.
The world of Enia is a troubled place, one you can make your own.
Play the game you want to. Chose to be a fighter, swinging your sword with skill and might, vanquishing your foes. Or become a trader, buy low, sell high and always know where a good deal is to be found. Maybe crafting is more to your liking and being a world renowned grandmaster blacksmith or carpenter is what you want to become. Of course you can also choose to lead, become a lord, king or emperor. The choices are yours.
Choosing one path does not preclude you from going down another one later. There are no classes or races to lock you in. You acquire skills and can deepen them over time. Every action you do will increase your skill, you will always improve.
You share one giant, non-instanced world with everyone. There are no copies, it's only one world. Through that, your actions have changing impacts. Build a home, found a city, create a castle, everyone around you can see that. Conquer other cities, or creating alliances and kingdoms. Fight wars and change the borders of countries, or eliminate them entirely.
The world changes in many other ways with you as well. You can fell trees or plant them. Create fields and harvest your crop. Mine for resources in mountains and create shafts into the rock. Seasons change the entire world around you, not just in looks. As you live in the world, it will change, as you and others will change it over time.
While you can spend hours on end in Enia, it's not a requirement to get skilled or enjoy the world. You can spend 15 minutes of time, no matter if you just start out or if you already played for years, and still get meaningful experiences out of it within that time frame. Progress is quick at the lower end of the skills, giving you a useful proficiency quickly, but mastery takes a lot of time.
You could solve a small quest, chop some trees, craft some items, go for some trades, hunt some animals or simply explore the world. No matter what strikes your fancy, you can find what you are looking for even if you can't invest hours at a time.
